Material:-
These qualities offer a surface hardness that is generally in the range of 530- 600HV. Surface of greater or less hardness (depending on application) can, however, also be achieved. In Flour Mills the hardness range with an unalloyed quality will generally be 530-570 HV and 550-590HV with an alloyed quality. Unalloyed qualities in the range of 530-570 HV are generally required by oil mills (Crushing rolls) coffee grinders, malt mills and for crushing fodder (in animal forming) and in the chemical and pharmaceutics industries. However, our new 550-590 HV alloyed qualities already now warrant a number of significant result by enhancing rationalization and effectiveness in a number of applications. High chromium-alloy qualities of up to approx. 600 HV are used in wet crushing in breweries and other specialized fields of application such as the foodstuffs and chemical and pharmaceutics industries. All above decribed qualities are supplied with an approz. 10% active O.D. chill depth i.e. working zone. Hence approx. 10% of the initial O.D. may, always depending on the depth of the fluting, be worked off and or reworked with the material characteristics in this range remaining unvaried as regards hardness, wear resistance and toughness etc. Our rolls therefore stand for an optimal utilization. In this context it should not be overlooked that the roll supplier is required to dertmine the optimal compromise between the contradictory requirements for superior wear and breaking resistance. The hard and tough wear resistant external shell (working zone) of the rolls must correspond at a given ration to the crosssection of the grey core that absorbs mechanical force action on the roll. It may on principle be stated that the production of fluted rolls to the above standards relies on 30 years of experience combined with the most advanced trends in technology and so answers the highest level of research and development achieved world wide. Hardness wear resistance and toughness can be combined with superior precision and workmanship. The production of all kinds of surface profiles is realized in peak quality for the different industries by the most advanced standard of development in mechanical engineering. |
