Fluted Rolls
Fields of application:-

All applications where you wish to cut, clip, split or crush, grinding stock/bulk material.
This type of comminution may be either selective or simple and allowance for selected particle sizes and or collochemical or mechanostructural properties is largely feasible. Important improvements of the final product quality can thereby be achieved in all applications where a combination of cutting clipping , splitting, crushing scarpping, grinding, rubbing and pressure is to be realized both in selective as well as comminution or grinding in all application where free running stock/bulk material is to undergo precision grinding.

- Susceptibility to fragmentation.

As regards the efficiency of a prospective replacement of the clear chill cast smooth rolls by self-surfacing indefinite chill smooth rolls, a rough estimate shows that the money invested in the self-sufacing smooth rolls will have paid in less than two years. Maintenance also is a point to be made. With a properly functioning grain dressing machine (sand and grit trap), no reworking of the roll faces is necessary even for the head reductions. And, compared with classical smooth rolls, it should be noted that no steel scrapers may be used as they might prejudice the self-surfacing effect. If the rolls must be cleaned in the case of granular grinding stock, this should be done with a brush that is entirely free from any steel wire. When ordering rolls, it is of importance to indicate which passage the rolls are intended for and how many breaks scratches and comminution passage the system has.
